Spirit of Darkness

FULL MOON BLOG 2025
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕

For 2025, one of my missions is to go to various places at night to chase moonlight for all 12 full moons, and upload at least one photo for each month. Welcome to my full moon blog.

August

The moon is now bigger, brighter and higher, there is more intense moonlight in the field and light going through the trees in the woods at night. This pattern will continue until the end of year supermoons.

July

The powers sensed tonight in an open moonlit hilltop of nature were very strong, with a powerful breeze and moonlight energy that never dies. The moon remains at an extreme low, but will start rising higher and bigger as we approach both winter and supermoons.

June

Summer; the sun is at its highest and the full moon at its lowest. Light is at its highest, darkness is at its lowest. The moon's orbital plane is tilted, and this full moon is the lowest we'll see until 2043! A graveyard is low enough.

May

The near-solstice moonlight is now too low to bring light to the forest as it did before. A lake reflection was chosen for this month, although the next one could be entirely different. This is the year's final micro-moon, each full moon will now appear bigger than the last until the supermoons at the end of the year.

April

In the moonlit woods, by a lake on a lovely clear night. It's a micro-moon, shining from furthest distance in its elliptical orbit. As we approach summer solstice the full moon will rise lower in the sky... low enough to capture a lake reflection next?

March

It's just a week before the vernal equinox... and there is frost in the woods, temperatures below 0°C and clear skies. What an amazing night.

February

The moonlight tried after an entire week of grey and constant cloud, and a "winter" that has not been cold enough. Withdrawal symptoms from nature and darkness are severe!

January

First full moon of the year observed, first out of twelve monthly rituals in the woods at night. Here we start a new year of melancholy and darkness.
